Who We Are
Huntsville College Preparatory School (HCPS) is a k-12 nonprofit private school, serving children with learning differences in Huntsville, Alabama. Our student body includes students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia, ADHD, Anxiety and students who simply need an individualized learning experience.
Our Admins
We are parents first, educators second and business owners third. Combined, we have over three decades in both special and general education. Our passion for early childhood education propels our daily intention to ensure we cultivate an environment where every child experiences the flutters of success. We adamantly stand by the truth that every child deserves access to a comprehensive education that will equip them with the skills, confidence and experience to overcome every obstacle with vigor and endurance.
Our Objective
It is our objective to understand the peaks and valleys of each student, and use that data to navigate them to exceed their own expectations, in spite of diagnosis, personal limitations, socio-economic background and assumed stereotypes previously adopted.
Our Approach
We are committed to providing a multisensory learning experience that increases the likelihood of student engagement, skill acquisition and retention. We expose all our students to various university catalog by maintaining a collegiate presence, dual enrollment volunteer and enrichment relationships with local universities. HCPS is the difference between going to school and experiencing education.
Our Mission
Our mission is to present an individualized academic experience that is a catalyst for confidence and curiosity.
From Here to Anywhere
HCPS uses multisensory curriculum implementation to fully immerse students
in every subject. Multisensory learning happens when more than one sense is used to acquire and retain information. Our AVK teaching methods increase the likelihood of skill acquisition and retention, but more importantly makes learning fun, engaging and out of the box!

Auditory
Listening & Speaking
Auditory learners acquire information best when it is presented verbally. They are most successful when directions are read aloud, they thrive by listening to and presenting speeches, and when information is presented and requested verbally.

Visual
Seeing & Reading
Visual learners acquire information best when it is presented visually. They are most successful when directions are written, by writing things down themselves, and when information is presented in pictures, movies, diagrams and charts.

Kinesthetic
Touching & Doing
Kinesthetic learners acquire information best when it is presented in a way that can be touched and experienced. They are most successful when participating in field trips, science labs, using manipulatives, and when actively involved in activities throughout their day.
